Well, sorta. The moisture in the air is the real killer. Without trying to get too technical and revealing my true level of ignorance, the moisture/humidity in the air will cause the dirt/dust particles to swell up and reduce the amount of airflow through the filter. The same thing happens when you are caught in the rain and the bike begins to run a little rough--dirty air filter effect compounded by the extra moisture in the air. When it's hotter outside, the effect of the moisture isn't as bad because the hotter the ambient air temperature, the faster the air particles can move, with colder air, the effect is the opposite.

And, depending upon what has been done inside of your carb, since you aren't REALLY sure what was done to it, going with a hotter plug as well as cleaning/replacing the filter would not be a bad idea. You could always replace the hotter plug with the other one if it doesn't work. Trial and error, error and trial, yadda-yadda-yadda.

So, did I learn you sumthin? Besides the fact that I may not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but I do shine every once in a while.....LOL!!!
